Good morning Jaguar Families! A Blue form went home yesterday to sign up a Family Veterant to honor them at our Hicks Veteran's Celebration. The letter has a typo of saying "Monday, November 6" The correction is the parade will be held Friday, November 6 at 8:30am. Forms need to be turned into the office/teacher by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2. This celebration is ONLY for Veterans and their jaguar. A light breakfast will be provided to the VETERAN after the parade.

Attention fast, swift Jaguars in grades 3-5! Wednesday, October 21, Coach Cora will be having a PARENT MEETING for those jaguars in grades 3-5 who are interested in joining the Jaguar Runnign Club. The meeting will be at 3:30, and a guardian must me present to gather all details to join.

September has been filled with so much excitement and visitors on campus. Our lil jaguars have been hard at work and celebrating their learning, Ms. Davila held a "Make and Take" for parents and students in Pre-K to learn all about the curriculum and how they can help their jaguars at home. Pre-K also celebrateds their learning with "Pajama Day!" Ms. Rodriguez's class got a special visitor for our very own Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette Guajardo to teach them about community leaders and their roles in the city. We are excited to see what October holds for us here at Hicks! Stay Tuned!

Corpus Christi ISD is proud to announce the next phase of its 1:1 for everyone, which expands access to digital learning tools for all grade levels. During the 2025–26 school year, students in grades K–12 will have access to a district-issued device. Students in grades 3 through 5 will have access to a 1:1 device while at school, and students in grades 6-12 will have a device directly assigned to them for use at school and home. Families of students in grades 3–8 will also have the option to request that their child’s device be sent home for extended learning opportunities. Highlights of the Initiative: Internet filters: All devices will be equipped with internet filtering to help ensure safe browsing at school and home. Insurance options: Families will have access to device insurance options ranging from $15-$30, which can be found on the school webstore. Student Technology Service Center: Certified high school student technicians will continue to provide device repair and maintenance through the Student Technology Service Center, supporting both sustainability and career-ready skills development. “Providing devices for each student ensures equitable access districtwide and enables students to take learning beyond the four walls of the classroom, when appropriate,” said Director of Technology Support Services Janelle Reyes.
